“Fire & Ice” will open May 8 at the Simpsonville Arts Center.

Verrandeaux has worked on children’s book illustrations, photo-realistic portraits, and landscape and abstract paintings. Her work is also on display in galleries in Tryon, North Carolina; and Inman, Greer and Spartanburg.

Joining Verrandeaux is Zumbach, who produces pieces out of fused glass, including sculptures and clocks.

“‘The ‘Fire & Ice’ exhibit brings something a little different to the Arts Center,” said Melissa Sturgis, manager of the Simpsonville Arts Center. “Guests will see whimsical and intricate fused glass pieces created by Tom Zumbach – including fused glass clocks – and Mary Verrandeaux’s paintings of gorgeous landscapes in fiery colors. So many beautiful works of art are filling the gallery once again. It’s such a pleasure to come to work every morning and see art on the walls of the Simpsonville Arts Center.”

Simpsonville Arts Center will host an art opening event from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. on May 17 to celebrate this new collection.

“Fire & Ice” will also be open to the public from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday-Thursday.
