thank you hey guys welcome back to the channel my name is Jen and I'm happy that you're here today because now that Easter has come and gone I'm ready to make some changes in my dining room so I thought it would be fun to just play with a couple of different looks I've got some.
Cottage looks and some neutral looks and I just thought it would be fun to kind of play around with some items that I already have just to see what other looks we can come up with if you are new to the channel I would love it if you would consider subscribing hit that like button below and let's get started with the decorating so we're going to start.
In the center that centerpiece is usually the base piece where you'll sort of fill in smaller pieces around it for just like the enhanced Decor look but this is what we're starting with I actually had this in my kitchen if you saw my spring kitchen decorate video then you have seen this before I had some napkins in here with some napkin.
Rings but I just really like the look of this Cottage looking basket um the yellow and white gingham napkin and then this flower arrangement inside obviously these are all faux so no maintenance required these can all be purchased at Hobby Lobby and I just kind of put these together in an arrangement inside here for a cute spring Cottage.
Looks we're going to use this as the centerpiece now something that's really fun to do especially if you have a neutral or a light colored table runner is to break up that neutral coloring with some wood and wood and like creams or whites they always go so well together and they create such a beautiful backdrop for.
Whatever Decor you want to use and so I'm just going to place this bamboo trivet on the table runner along with this white pitcher so another thing I've really been enjoying this spring season are these age terracotta pots I did a quick DIY on this believe it or not this is just chalk.
Um sort of smudged onto the terracotta pot it's super easy I do have a DIY video if you're interested in checking it out but it's seriously just that simple and then I just popped in some faux baby's breath in here I got these at Hobby Lobby and I have this larger size one and then I also have a smaller one and I'm just going to kind of place.
These in front of where the white pitcher is now oftentimes I'll use florals inside of a white pitcher but I think today I'm just going to go with some wooden utensils foreign now in my opinion and I'm not an expert decorator but I do enjoy balancing out.
The items on both sides of the centerpiece even if they're not exactly the same item so I did want to bring in some more wood so that it would match with the wood trivet and that wicker basket sort of has a wood feel to it they're all natural elements and so I'm going to balance it out with this and then I'm also going to bring in another.
Terracotta pot as well as some more of that same faux baby's breath from the other side thank you so with my dining table being an oval shape I don't usually like to put the place settings out I generally just like.
To use a simple Runner and then whatever Decor I'm going to use I just put it on the center line of that Runner and call it good I don't usually set the table partly because we don't usually eat at this table but also I don't like having my table setting out collecting dust and so I just only worry about the table Center piece and so.
Um since I'm not going to be putting out play settings I like to use napkins as Decor now these are the napkins and napkin holders that I had in that wicker basket when I had them in my kitchen and using napkins as part of your Decor is a great way to bring in some softness and some texture especially if you're using a lot of wood and natural elements like.
Stone or brass Whatever item that you're using these will always be a nice enhancement of course if you're using a table setting with plates you could put these on the plates but since I'm not doing that I'm just going to use them as a centerpiece decor so if you guys have been watching me for a while you know that I love my velabox.
Monthly candle subscription and my new yellow box arrived just the other day I actually sort of designed this entire tablescape around my bellabox candle that I ordered and I couldn't be happier with bellabox and I just want to let you guys know that if you're interested in some candles that are clean burning and made with super high quality ingredients.
You definitely want to check out valid box but the thing that I love most about my bellabox subscription is that they only partner with us-based candle makers I'm getting candles that are high quality but they're also made in the USA and I love that so I want to continue decorating so that you can see how the final look turned out but if you want to.
Get your own Velo box subscription check out the description box below I'll have a link and if you use my discount code good home 50 that's good with an E home fit five zero you'll get 50 off of your first shipment it's a great deal I highly encourage you guys to check out yellow box thank you.
so now we have look number one set up let's take a closer look thank you foreign so I really like this cute Cottage look.
But let's take things in a different direction and see if we can come up with something that's a little bit more neutral and sort of calm so once again I'm going to start by just bringing in the main focal point of the table runner and this time it's going to be this really gorgeous Arrangement that I put together off camera because you guys.
Know I struggle so much with faux floral arranging but it's just got some really simple colors we've got eucalyptus we've got white Cosmos and I want to say the white larger flowers are carnations and then some faux baby's breath and I think this is just a really beautiful and neutral combination and paired with this wood bowl I think it's just gonna look.
Beautiful on the center of the table so we're gonna place this and then we're gonna come in with just some simple candlesticks so I'm going to add in one more item just for a bit of texture I want to bring in a small wood element that will kind of tie in with the wood bowl that the florals are in and then of course.
The white ceramic would tie in with the candle and the floral colors foreign thank you okay so this look is really different than the first one and I really like this one as well but you can make some quick swaps once you have your base.
Decoration or sort of the look that you have in in mind you can swap out the centerpiece for even some fun items around your house just to kind of make a different look so let's take a look at what we can swap out for that really beautiful centerpiece and see if we can bring in something that's maybe just a little bit more bold and whimsical.
So I'm going to place this thrifted floral arrangement um it's just got a ceramic base and these are affixed to the inside I think these are a really beautiful color nice and neutral but a little bit taller a little bit more bold just a different look the only concern I have and you should always be careful when you're.
Using faux florals with live flame please please be careful with that use your best judgment and definitely I'm Gonna Keep My candles lit just for the look but I do highly recommend that you use faux when you're combining faux florals with candles so that's a really cute look but I feel like it's missing something so I'm just.
Going to place this brass watering can in front of it just to sort of tie in the look of the brass candlestick holders foreign foreign.
Well that's going to do it for the decorating today guys leave me a comment in the comments below and let me know what you think which one is your favorite I'm leaning towards this one this one may stay for a little while but I really love that super cute Garden inspired Cottage look as well I hope you enjoyed today's video and I hope it gave.
