Carolinian Debutante Club Annual Mother-Daughter Tea thumbnail

The Carolinian Debutante Club introduced the 2023 debutantes Saturday, May 20, at the annual Mother-Daughter Tea held at Greenville Country Club. The 13 women to be presented at the 54th annual winter ball on December 22nd at the Poinsett Club are: 

Miss Charlotte Catherine Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Scott Davis, is a student at Clemson University. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Bobby Ray Hudson and the late Mr. Hudson of Greenville, and Mr. and Mrs. John George Davis of Greenwood. 

Miss Katherine Isabelle Faris, daughter of Dr. Lisa Manning Faris and the late Dr. Henry Miles Faris III, is a student at Clemson University. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Kenneth Paul Manning and the late Dr. Manning of Washington, North Carolina, Dr. and Mrs. John Thomas Phillips of Carrollton, Alabama, and Mrs. Henry Miles Faris, junior, and the late Dr. Faris, sustaining members of the Carolinian Debutante Club, of Greenville. 

Miss Elizabeth Kathleen Hungerford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Lansing Hungerford, is a student at Auburn University. She is the granddaughter of Ms. Judith Satterwhite Snowden of Greenville, Mr. Richard Phillip Snowden of Gijon, Spain, and Mr. and Mrs. David Henry Hungerford of Horseheads, New York. 

Miss Kathryn Copeland Jones, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Preston Allen Jones, junior, is a student at the University of South Carolina. She is the granddaughter of Mr. Virgil Callaway Harris III and the late Mrs. Harris of Pawleys Island, and Mrs. Preston Allen Jones and the late Dr. Jones of Columbia. 

Miss Jean Frances Knight, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Arnold Knight II, is employed by Greenville County EMS. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Robert Louie Nelson and the late Mr. Nelson, and the late Dr. and Mrs. Roland McKittrick Knight, sustaining members of the Carolinian Debutante Club, all of Greenville. 

Miss Alston Anne Middleton Lucas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LaBruce Mortimer Seabrook Lucas, is a student at Clemson University. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Larry Hugh Patterson and the late Mr. Patterson of Charlotte, North Carolina, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Silas Emmett Lucas, junior, of Greenville. 

Miss Mary Elizabeth McNair, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Fairley McNair, is a student at Clemson LIFE. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Henry Drummond Sharp, junior, and the late Dr. Sharp of Rock Hill, and Mr. and Mrs. James Alexander McNair of Montreat, North Carolina.

Miss Mary Hope Martin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Christopher Martin, is a student at the University of South Carolina. She is the granddaughter of Ms. Jo Ann Mason of North Augusta, the late Mr. Richard Burnett Mason of Union, and Mr. and Mrs. Wilse Winn Martin III, sustaining members of the Carolinian Debutante Club, of Greenville. 

Miss Emerson Herron Mitchell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Paul Mitchell, junior, is a student at Wofford College. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Eugene Miller of Anniston, Alabama, and Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Paul Mitchell, sustaining members of the Carolinian Debutante Club, of Greenville. 

Miss Carly Elizabeth Morgan, daughter of The Honorable and Mrs. Grenville DeLorme Morgan, junior, is a student at the University of Mississippi. She is the granddaughter of Mr. James Leonard Davidson and the late Mrs. Davidson of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Mrs. Grenville DeLorme Morgan, senior, and the late Mr. Morgan of Greenville. 

Miss Mary Kathryn Moyd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Livingston Moyd III, is a student at Wofford College. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Perry Finley and Mrs. Daniel Livingston Moyd, junior, and the late Mr. Moyd, all of Greenville. 

Miss Layton Fuller Powell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Scott Powell, is a student at the University of Georgia. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Barbara Reid Hamilton of Tifton, Georgia, the late Robert Franklin Cox of Greenville and the late Dr. and Mrs. Charles Harris Powell of Clemmons, North Carolina. 

Miss Margaret Anna Wilson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Alan Wilson, is a student at Wake Forest University. She is the granddaughter of Mr. Kenneth Claud Porter and the late Mrs. Porter, and Dr. and Mrs. Freddie Ernest Wilson, sustaining members of the Carolinian Debutante Club, all of Greenville. Mrs. David Allen Wilson is a past president of the club. 

Mrs. David Kay Seaver is the president of the Carolinian Debutante Club. Other officers are Mrs. Sidney Paul Mitchell, junior, president-elect; Mrs. Brian Alan Rogers, recording secretary; Mrs. Samuel Browne White, junior, assistant recording secretary; Mrs. James David Cowart, corresponding secretary; Mrs. Lane Whitaker Davis, treasurer; Mrs. 

Joshua Lyle Howard, ball chairman; and Mrs. Bruce Wyche Bannister, social chairman.

Board members are Mrs. Thomas Edward Baumgarten, Mrs. Alexander Fairley McNair, Mrs. Erik Bryan Whaley, Mrs. George Gray Kitchens, junior, Mrs. Lee Andrew Scroggins III and Mrs. Brian David Feldman. Mrs. David Alan Wilson is the ex-officio member of the board. Advisors are Mrs. Patrick Allen Duncan, Mrs. Thomas Searcy Ledbetter and Mrs. Ronald Lynn Copsey, junior.
