IT’S ONLY been a year and change since Yellowjackets ended its buzzy and tension-filled first season with a major cliffhanger—but it feels like it’s been closer to a decade. Finally, though, we’re getting a second go-around with the mysterious, Lost-esque, potentially cannibalism-filled adventures of Shauna (Melanie Lynskey and Sophie Nelisse), Taissa (Tawny Cypress and Jasmin Savoy Brown), Natalie (Juliette Lewis and Sophie Thatcher), and Misty (Christina Ricci and Samantha Hanratty).

Of course, when the first season of any show is a success, the second season isn’t just going to run things back the same way; things are going to get bigger, and the stakes are going to get higher. In the case of Yellowjackets, that means that the story is going to get darker, the ’90s jams are going to jam harder, and boy oh boy are the conspiracies going to get wilder.

We’re also adding some very exciting new characters to the mix. Lottie (Courtney Eaton) was one of the show’s most interesting characters in Season 1’s 1996 period (and was at the center of the season’s supernatural mystery and cliffhanager ending), and now we get to meet her in the present day, played with a compelling intrigue by Simone Kessell. We’ll also get to meet the present day version of Van (Liv Hewson), played by Six Feet Under‘s Lauren Ambrose. And it’s a good time to be a Yellowjackets fan who also loves Tolkien, because Elijah Wood is joining the cast, playing one of Misty’s fellow citizen detectives who just loves snooping around. That sure sounds like something that will end well!

Which is all to say that we’re just as excited for Season 2 of Yellowjackets as you are. Here’s when we’re going to be able to see every new episode of Showtime’s newest massive hit.
